SNOWDRIFT
‘Snowdrift’ is yet another variation in our unique, 3D, facsimile series of rugs and wall hangings, which take their motivation from wo/man’s mark in nature. This can be ‘intentional’ with mazes, labyrinths, Zen gardens and crop circles, or, (as in this case) accidental/incidental. The inspiration came from witnessing tracks left by juggernauts in the winter snow and the transitory quality emphasised by wind filling in the patterns at irregular intervals.
We are especially pleased with the humorous aspect – having created the appearance of snow from a warm material that would be used for insulation against the cold. This is a macho image on delicate ground. Living with this design the strongest impression it leaves is – when waking first thing in the morning, being shocked at the indications – during the night a ‘ghost truck’ had entered through one wall and disappeared through the opposite side, leaving a tire track as the only evidence.
